Sprint & Reset

This drill is designed to work on footwork for quick movements in the pocket to avoid a rush.  The drill stresses foot speed, balance, reaction, and quick release.


  1. Begin with 4 cones set in a square roughly 6 yards apart.
  2. Take a 5 step drop (or gun and 3) into the square and sprint to a cone on the coach’s command.
  3. Reset your body in throwing position when you reach the cone.
  4. Continue to as many cones as desired and on the coach’s command throw the football immediately after resetting the feet.

*The number sprint/resets before throwing can be varied to create a reaction element to the drill.
