Sprint & Reset
This drill is designed to work on footwork for quick movements in the pocket to avoid a rush. The drill stresses foot speed, balance, reaction, and quick release.
- Begin with 4 cones set in a square roughly 6 yards apart.
- Take a 5 step drop (or gun and 3) into the square and sprint to a cone on the coach’s command.
- Reset your body in throwing position when you reach the cone.
- Continue to as many cones as desired and on the coach’s command throw the football immediately after resetting the feet.
*The number sprint/resets before throwing can be varied to create a reaction element to the drill.
